WordPress Themes For Photographers, Designed By A Photographer
After many years of creating websites for Studio K Photography and others, I decided it was time to start creating my own WordPress Themes. The WordPress Themes that were available to photographers seemed to be lacking in function and were difficult to make work.
Most WordPress Themes are designed for “Multi-Purpose” use. They have a ton of functionality, but not exactly what photographers are looking for. The other issue with multi-purpose themes is that they are often very difficult to setup, and are very often bloated because they try to be everything to everyone. Even the themes that are made for photographers favor landscape or commercial photographers, not portrait photographers. Portrait photographers just have different needs. This was my issue with using WordPress for the websites I designed for Studio K. I ended up coding HTML5 websites from scratch. It wasn’t long until I learned how to combine the best of both worlds and started coding Hybrid websites using WordPress as a backend and HTML5 as the website that my photography clients viewed. It worked so well that I decided that I needed to start writing them for other clients as well.
I am currently working on the Framework for a new WordPress Theme for photographers that I can make commercially available. The new theme is designed to give portrait photographers everything they need to get the most out of their website. The best image handling, built in SEO, ultra easy to use and setup even easier to maintain.
After the Framework is done I will be developing several awesome themes and plugins to help photographers to get seen on the web, attract more clients, and showcase their work better than anything else on the market today. And like all WordPress Themes, it will be the most inexpensive option for a website available.
I am planning on releasing the framework and the first theme early in 2017. In the meantime make sure you get on the mailing list so I can keep you informed of progress and bounce ideas off you for what you specifically need to make your life easier.
